Biosecurity

The goal of Biosecurity projects is to ensure safe and secure food systems and healthier communities.  These projects identify gaps and provide biosecurity education and capacity building for food production systems to mitigate risks of high importance infectious diseases affecting farm animals.  Veterinary Medicine Extension Specialists partner with University of California Cooperative Extension County Advisors and extension researchers from other institutions in projects focused on secure food systems for healthier communities in California.  These projects consist of applied research, outreach, and educational activities of biosecurity for food producing animals.
