Equine Medical Care in Rescue and Airlift
The UC Davis Equine Medical Strike Team (UCD EMST), led by Dr. Lais Costa, provides emergency medical care for equids at rescue and airlift operations.
The UCD EMST integrates with large animal rescue and animal response teams by bringing expertise to trainings and simulation of emergencies. The team also provides emergency medical care for horses requiring rescue and/ or airlift at the annual Western States Endurance Ride, the Tevis Cup.
